Rosario Cemetery

Every year the faithful of Santa Fe gather to ensure that Don Diego de Vargas’ promise is kept to honor the oldest Marian statue in the United States, Nuestra Senora de la Paz, La Conquistadora which first arrived in 1692. Many join the annual pilgrimage as La Conquistadora is carried from the Cathedral Bascilica of St. Francis of Assisi to Rosario Chapel.  A series of Masses are celebrated daily in both the morning and evening.
